This transportation box mounts in the bed of a pick-up truck near the tailgate. It is bolted down to prevent the case from falling out in case of an accident and to deter any would-be thieves. The aluminum box blends right in with other toolboxes so as not to attract attention to the gauge shipping case while in transport. In addition to these benefits, this box tilts upright to allow the gauge user easy access to the gauge at the jobsite. No more climbing into the truck and bending to lift the gauge out of the case! We are all aware of the national security issues that are present today. The new mounted transportation box offered by Troxler addresses the issues of theft, loss and unnecessary visibility of nuclear density gauges while in transport and on jobsites. NOTE: When the metal transportation box is mounted in a vehicle it effectively becomes part of the vehicle. It is not part of the TYPE A package nor is it an overpack as defined by U.S. DOT. Therefore, the mounted transportation box is not subject to HAZMAT labeling requirements and no radiation warning markings are required on it. There are two sizes of the box.
